Dr. Pregs provides services to look after the life journey of women.
Contraception

Dr Pregs prescribes Oral contraceptive pills for patients who choose to have them.

Long-acting contraception is offered through the use of IUD’s (intrauterine device). Both options are inserted in our private rooms at Epworth Freemason’s, East Melbourne.

Laparoscopic sterilization using Filshie clips and performed in the Day Procedure Centre at Epworth Freemasons.

Abnormal Pap Smears

Abnormal pap smears usually require a colposcopy. This is where the cervix is magnified to allow better assessment.

Colposcopies are done in my rooms in East Melbourne.    Depending on the results of colposcopy further assessment is offered. This may include a biopsy or minor procedures in the Day Procedure Centre.

Colposcopies (HPV and Other Viruses)

Dr. Pregs provides Pap tests for vaginal screening and colposcopy,  a diagnostic procedure. So if on a repeat Pap, your cells are still mildly abnormal or you still have high-risk HPV cells, you may need to repeat your colposcopy to detect any changes to the cervical cells and confirm that you don't have cancerous cells.

Fibroids

Dr. Pregs checks patients for Fibroids, the most frequently seen tumours of the female reproductive system. Fibroids, also known as uterine myomas, leiomyomas, or fibromas, are firm, compact tumours that are made of smooth muscle cells and fibrous connective tissue that develop in the uterus.

Heavy and Abnormal Bleeding

Uterine fibroids may cause heavier-than-normal or prolonged menstrual bleeding.

Polyps can cause irregular and/or prolonged bleeding.  Polyps are small, benign growths on the lining of the uterus (uterine polyps).
